This year your child will be using iPads within my classroom. My goal for the iPad is to help engage and promote student learning. iPads will not replace paper. I feel it is still very important that my students showtheir work/process, whether it be on paper or the ipad. Here are some ways iPads will be used in my classroom: Schoology - get/submit assignments and take quizzes Notability - Work on worksheets without paper Kahoot/ Quizziz - fun way to review Nearpod/ Pear Deck - interactive lessons and allows me to check up on the students Socrative/ Classkick - quizzes/ task cards QR codes - task cards/ scavenger hunt Explain Everything - create videos Games - reinforces skills while having a little fun
As you can see there is so much to do with an iPad and this isn’t everything. At least once a week your child will be using their iPad in my classroom.
I expect the students to be responsible, respectful, and safe when using their iPad. Each student is expected to: Bring the iPad to class each day Be on the iPad only when instructed. Use the apps/websites that my teacher has instructed.
Final thoughts - Remember iPads need to be charged each night so they are ready to use the next day.
If you ever have any concerns or questions feel free to contact myself or the school librarian.
